we all do!!
WE HAVE SO MUCH FRESH FOOD AVAILABLE 24/7 !!
but what happens when we only get to eat 50% (or less!) of what is prepared at the buffet tables?
what happens to the 50% (or less) of uneaten food? even if there was 5% of uneaten food, how many tonnes would that weigh and would all of that end up in the bin?
gordan ramsay has been screaming in hells kitchen...
"LOOK!! Look!! Look!! Look at what is in the bin!!!"

Just take a moment when you're at the hypermart
Just take a moment when you're at the hypermart
- look at the tonnes of fresh fruit and veggies in huge crates,
... look at the fresh fish and seafood in huge tubs,
... look at the chilled meat section...
HOW MANY PEOPLE (or FAMILIES) CAN YOU FEED IF WE DISTRIBUTE FOOD FROM THE HYPERMART?
HOW MUCH DO WE CONSUME?
RATHER, HOW MUCH CAN WE CONSUME???
few years ago i was at a hypermart. i had a great view across the supermarket - i saw heaps and heaps and huge heaps of fruits and veggies... gave me quite a lasting and shocking image... really...
it's different going to a wholesale market since at that market, most items have already been sold
that day at the hypermart, i bought 4 watermelons, each abt 2kg and rather large... i choose them from a giant metal basket/crate containing more than 100 watermelons😱😱
just watermelons... they had many other giant baskets of fruits and veggies😱😱
and the fresh meat, fish & seafood section was like another area with their own giant tubs
when i was a kid, i've been to the fishing ports at around 3-5am to wait for fishing boats to come in with their catch... they had loads of seafood then (1970's, 1980's).
i wonder if we can ever finish eating all these food out there Lol
below pic - crates of fruits..
look at the crates of watermelons and compare size with the shopping basket...
