Celebrating CNY & My 56th Birthday!

🔥hotpot🔥 and Yu Sheng



before edna goes to kuching for a few weeks, we had one potluck session. usually we will each cook a dish or two and edna will cook like a meal for potluck!

but since it's near cny, we have 🔥hotpot🔥 and yu sheng! 

what a treat!

Our "lunch" started around 12pm and ended after 4pm LOLOL

Part 1 - Yu Sheng - my contribution!

Prepared the ingredients.

Joey brought out a GIANT plate!!

Roger did all the plate styling with the ingredients i prepared

- yu sheng set of pickles, salad dressing, gold biscuits, toppings and seasoning

- white radish / white carrot x1 big - shredded and slices that look like fish

- carrot x1 big

- japanese cucumber x2

- mandarin orange x2 (not keen to use pomelo)

- mango x1

- jellyfish x2 packets - seasoned with fragrant sesame oil

- coriander (wang sui) x2 bunches

- big lime x2

- small lime from my garden x3

Part 2 - Steamboat & Tong Shui - Edna's & Joey's contribution

Edna bought all the food for steamboat and made a tong shui / dessert

- iberico pork - collar

- fresh prawns

- tang or veggies

- mushrooms

- beef balls

- quail eggs

- beancurd rolls stuffed with fish paste

- soft tofu

Edna also made tong shui 

- sweet beancurd with barley and ginko nuts

i had some leftover white radish and carrots for the stock.

i also made a simple dip with chilli, coriander, lime and light soya sauce

and Joey made the soup stock 

- japanese bonito sachet from isetan - very nice!

Part 3 - Birthday Cake, Chinese Tea - Roger & Joey

hazelnut chocolate cake 

drinks and jasmine chinese tea :)

Part 4 - Food & Our Wefie Pics - Roger

- yu sheng with GIANT plate!

- roger decorated the yu sheng plate, cooked us the hotpot goodies 

and helped take wefies and videos of the food and for us all!

- hotpot / steamboat - forgot to take pics uggh!! but got video

- tong shui and jasmine chinese tea - forgot pics LOLOL

Part 5 - Small Gift Exchange

- i gave out the printed sketches

- joey gave out cookies in a bottle

- edna gave oranges

- roger helped to prepare the food, table and to cook our steamboat ingredients!
