Yim May and I visited Gerald's dad at his orchid garden. Uncle is 95 in 2024, will be 96 in 2025. wanted Uncle to take a look at Mummy's Orchids and see if they're doing ok. and, good thing Gerald was home, we had a very nice time there!
4 Jan 2025
visiting uncle & sleepy G at Koh Keng Hoe Orchid Nursery,
Dunearn Close with Yim May.
(uncle is 95 years old, going on 96 this year!)
uncle saved mum’s orchids - he inspected them &
yanked out all the ferns & weeds in the pot…
(uncle: “soooo many weeds! grrrr”)
and then…
uncle:
aiyoh! who cut these stalks?
me:
๐ *guilty!*
stalks & leaves had black spots so i cut them off๐.
uncle then said, “oh. that’s ok!“ (phew!)
basic orchid care
- charcoal & clay flower pots work best
- hydrate during hot weather
- fertilise 2x a week or follow product instructions
i wanna visit again soon!
